Last Minute Checks:

As we approach the last days of school and graduation, all seniors should double check to make sure that grades are all passing, all fees and fines are paid, all detention time has been cleared up, community service is complete, and caps and gowns fit appropriately.  If students have not met all graduation requirements by this date, they will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony.  Do not wait until the day of graduation to try on your graduation apparel.  Many times we do not have much for extra sizes at the last minute.

Senior Assembly—Graduation Practice:

All graduating seniors are required to attend the senior assembly and graduation practice on May 9, 2018, starting at 9:00 a.m. in the High School Auditorium.  Yes—this is the last official day for seniors!  During this time we will have the students fill out some important papers, check final scholarship lists for accuracy, make sure names are pronounced correctly, and run through the graduation ceremony several times for practice.  Once we complete all of the tasks for the morning, the seniors will be free to leave for the day.

Baccalaureate Service:

On Sunday, May 6, 2018, starting at 6:00 PM at Bethel Church, the 2018 Baccalaureate Service will be held.  The event will be sponsored by members of the graduating Class of 2018.  This is a great opportunity for students to start the week of graduation off in an excellent manner.  The service is open to all graduates and their families and will be student lead.  Students are asked to look nice for the event, wearing at least a collared shirt or the equivalent.  If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Hoover.

Scholarships:

As we prepare for graduation and announcement of all scholarships, please make sure that all students that have earned a scholarship have reported it to Mrs. Vodicka and the NCHS Guidance Office.  We want to make sure we honor every student that earned a scholarship.  To report an earned scholarship please call Mrs. Vodicka with the name of the scholarship and the amount of money the scholarship is worth.

Commencement 2018:

Commencement 2018 will be held in the Nebraska City High School Gymnasium on May 13, 2018, starting at 1:00 p.m.
