WInter Sports Protocol -UPDATE 1/18/21

Thank you to the entire NC community for supporting us and being flexible during this time!  Please see below for updated protocol.

Updated Nebraska City High School Winter Sports Protocols:  1-18-21

Nebraska City Public Schools would like to thank our community for following the protocols we have put in place to make sure our students can continue to participate in Activities.  As always, these protocols are always subject to change.

As our winter activities get started we wanted to reach out and remind you that our priority at Nebraska City Public Schools is to provide a safe & positive atmosphere where our students can compete and experience high school sports & activities. In addition, we want our families to share in the experience as much as possible. Please be flexible with us as things will be changing for both home and away events. We will do our best to keep you up to date as protocols change. The NSAA is requiring all non-active participants, spectators, and coaches to wear a face-covering at all times.

As of now, these are our Game Day Protocols for home basketball and wrestling events. These protocols have been created with guidance from the NSAA, Southeast District Health Department and the TrailBlazer Conference.  Please note that these may change in accordance with our local health department.

All spectators are required to only attend game(s) for the team they are on the pass list for (ie - boys JV parents are not permitted to attend the girls varsity game). Please do not arrive more than 15 minutes prior to tipoff or match. Fans are expected to leave at the conclusion of each game.

Fans are encouraged to check out the Nebraska City Activities Youtube Page for live streaming of home events.  We will attempt to live stream as many events as possible.  We will also post a link to our twitter page for any away events that are being live streamed. ADMISSION POLICY: All spectators must be on a pass list to attend. Each Nebraska City athlete and participating cheerleader will be allowed 6 fans on the pass list to attend games. Visiting schools will be allowed 6 fans on the pass list to attend games..  No visiting cheerleaders allowed. MASK GUIDELINES:

All non-active participants, spectators, & coaches will be required to wear masks at all times per NSAA guidelines.

All fans are to sit in family clusters, observing proper social distancing. Social distancing will be expected.

The NSAA is requiring the following of schools, officials and spectators for all winter season contests:

• Active participants are permitted, but not required, to wear face coverings during competition/performance.

• Coaches and non-active participants (those not currently on the court, mat or stage) are required to wear face

coverings at all times. Cheer and dance are considered non-active participants.

• Spectators are required to wear face coverings at all times while attending indoor events.

• Face coverings must cover the nose and mouth.

• The host school may establish additional requirements in consultation with local health departments. All children must be attended by an adult at all times. Concessions will be offered when possible. Please allow for ample social distancing while in hallways, restrooms, and at the concession stand.

All patrons and athletes should avoid large gatherings and/or loitering postgame. • No post game team meal.
