Saturday, March 19th, the Nebraska City Track team attended their first meet at Doane. The distance runners killed it; Mason Hougton won the 2 mile with Alex Rico getting 2nd. Mason also took 3rd in the mile with Alex coming in 4th. The 4x8 placed 5th in their relay. Zach Ottemann placed 5th in shot put.
Doane is a tough place to run because it is indoor so the laps are half the distance and the competition is fierce. But the first meeting was out of the way and next the team went to Waverly on the 25th.
The distance runners placed high again with Mason getting 2nd in both the 2-mile and 1-mile run.Alex got 3rd in the 2-mile and 4th in the mile. The 4x8 won the relay, which is a big improvement from the first meet.
The home meet is April 7th. That is next Thursday and we don’t have school so go support our team.
